THINKfast 201204/12/2012 • Sign Up For THINKfast 2012 • THINKfast brings youth together to explore the causes of poverty and social injustice and it inspires them to learn how they can make a difference in their community and in their world. • THINKfast is a 25-hour fast where breaking the fast together becomes a chance to be thankful and share in a Solidarity Celebration with our school community. • THINKfast empowers youth to live their faith and make socially responsible decisions about how they live their lives while also raising funds for the work of Development and Peace. • TOGETHER we can make a difference! • The 17th annual Thinkfast is happening at Vanier Catholic Friday May 4th and Saturday May 5th. Thinkfast is a 25-hour educational and social justice awareness event. The activities and presentations during THINKfast promote active participation in a way that students learn more about the lives of their brothers and sisters in the Global South. • To participate in THINKfast, students must pick up a registration package from Mr. Connell before April 18th, 2012. Students who would like to count the THINKfast 2012 for Community Service must raise a minimum of $50.00 in pledges for Development and Peace. Badminton04/12/2012 Badminton practices occur on Mondays and Wednesday after school. All students are welcome to participate. The Yukon Championships are April 21/22. Vanier Cup (Street Hockey Tournament)04/12/2012 Hockey action begins this Monday, April 16th, 2nd lunch. The deadline for sign-up will be Friday the 13th. Sign yourself up or miss out on the action! The gold medal game will be set for Friday, April 27th. Be there to cheer on your favorite team! 6 player teams (at least 1 girl on each) $5 fee per player/ or $30 per team (the fee covers trophies and medals) Social Justice Club04/12/2012 A reminder that the SJ Club meets every Tuesday at 12h15 in Room 14. Come and check it out. We raise awareness, encourage action and raise money for local and global groups related to Social Justice. If you are interested in taking a semester of hands-on, environmental science, the GLOBE 11 program may be for you! Download the information sheet HERE. Applications are due by April 5th!
