Booster Cards 2016-2017

12/9/2016

The Vanier Catholic Secondary School Booster Card is a bit late, but is ready for distribution and sale!  The sale of Booster Cards is the single major fund raising activity for the whole Vanier student community.

Our primary purpose with the Booster Cards is to raise funds to enhance the quality of student life for all students.  As such, we ask each student to sell two Booster Cards.

This year, we hope to use the funds raised for the following:
  • Purchasing new picnic tables for student use in the front of the school;
  • Constructing an outdoor stage at the front of the school;
  • Purchasing more benches for student use in the hallways; and
  • For the General Fund for Student Needs (helps with school activity costs for families who can’t afford them)

We expect that each student will return the money (or return unsold cards) to the administration office by Friday, December 16.

We are fortunate to have the support of a number of Whitehorse businesses that graciously offer discounts for the cards.  We are also grateful for the financial support of the community who purchase the cards to help us provide quality athletic, artistic and leadership opportunities for our students.

We are excited to have a great selection of both “one-time” and ongoing offers from local businesses on this year’s Booster Cards (some restrictions apply):

One-Time Discounts:
  • Big Bear Donair - buy one item, get another (of equal or lesser value) free
  • Mount Sima - Buy one day pass, receive one free
  • Kilrich - 10% off flooring

  • Subaru - $2000 off the purchase of a new vehicle
  • Booster Juice - Buy one item, get another (of equal or lesser value) at half price
  • Sagebrush Shoes - 25% off regular priced items

Each student who returns the money by December 16 will be entered into a draw to win one of two $100 cash prizes!

Teacher sponsors and coaches may sell additional booster cards for specific teams or fundraising purposes.

It is important for everyone to understand that the selling of booster cards is not for individual gain.  The funds raised from the sale of these cards enhance a wide range of school events and activities.

If you have any questions or concerns about the sale of these cards, please don’t hesitate to contact the school
